- Terre-ific!
Visited while staying in Ghent with my vegan girlfriend and her family. We ordered the sweet potato with goats’ cheese, one chilli sin carne and the ‘pomme et terre’ special. The food was delicious – can’t fault it. It’s a very simple concept, sweet potato covered with a variety of toppings, but nonetheless it was very tasty. The owner was very pleasant and even gave us a free brownie when we returned the following day on our second visit. Yes… it was that good, we went back two days in a row. My only comment / suggestion to the owner would be, please make the place more inviting from the outside! Walking past, you’d have no idea that this place a) is open b) serves food and c) is vegetarian and vegan friendly. From the street, it looks dark and dingy inside. (The interior décor is actually appealing… but you wouldn’t know that unless you went in.) The exterior lacks the colour and vibrancy that you find in the food – remedy this and Pomme et Terre will be well on its way to being the apple of Ghent’s earth-loving vegetarian and vegan hotspots!
