  • Cheap, authentic, good...but

We were excited to try out an authentic Thai place that was all vegan...no more having to ask about the fish and oyster sauce, shrimp paste, etc.! We ate there for lunch one day and loved it. They even had lots of snacks to take with us, so we stocked up. It was super cheap too! The next day we went back for lunch again. My wife got sick immediately and threw up in their squatty potty before we even left. She was sick all night. I got sick later that evening too. Luckily the bug only lasted about a day. I think part of the problem with "real and authentic" is it also means no proper refrigeration or anything, and being that it's prepared food (buffet) style, there's no way to preserve things good enough for our weak American stomachs. Proceed with caution, but still proceed. :-) [edit by staff - see tos]
