- Great one-stop vegan store!
This store is a great one-stop shop for veggie's in Berlin and offers a great alternative to the commercial 'Veganz', a vegan supermarket in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin. The range of groceries is amazing and includes everything you would expect to find in your local store, including: fresh fruit and vegetables; loose beans, lentils, grains, seeds etc.; jarred and bottled goods (such as oils, spreads, sauces etc.); snacks (such as crisps/chips, biscuits etc.); packaged ready made/processed items and freezer items (such as vegan 'meat' and 'cheese' products, pastry, ice cream, frozen veg etc.); and loose nuts and dried fruits. There is also a really good section of cosmetics and cleaning products, along with pet food, literature and t-shirts/accessories. There is also a small 'cafe corner' where you can drink a cold soft drink or beer or have a hot drink, and there is also a small selection cakes and snacks. One great thing about the store is the fact that a lot of the produce is sold loose and unprocessed, meaning that you can bring your own paper bags/containers and cut down on packaging. Also, most of the things they sell are organic and fair-trade. The place is run as a collective and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is conveniently located really closly to the other vegan spots "Cafe Vux" and "Trattoria Ponte Verde" in 'Rixdorf'.
