  • decent lunch option

the toll cross/bruntsfield area of edinburgh is now growing in the number of cafe's opening. Jeelie piece is a nice cafe offering a little more as it has a small art space, aiming to showcase local talent. I had carrot and coriander and vegan chocolate cake, washed down with a good strong coffee. i arrived as it opened and they let me in slightly early as it was snowing heavily. it got busy quickly, service was good and quick. the cake was great (they had one vegan cake but promised there are usually two), the soup was carrot & coriander...just not that exciting. the meaty soup did sound better and i will go back to try another option. The soup was good, just not something i would rush back for. overall a good option with nice people who are really trying, so probably worth supporting.
