- Best and healthiest ice cream is in Iceland!!!
Ice cream in Iceland:) It was an awesome experience visiting Iceland. Specially ''Joylato'' They are a vegetarian Ice cream shop that uses N2(liquid nitrogen) to freeze the ice cream while you wait and it only takes about 2-3 minutes. With about 50% vegan options. They make their own organic coconut milk, cashew milk and almond milk bases. I had the salted caramel with coconut base and then i went for the Icelandic bilberry with coconut milk. I could not get enough so i had 1 more and chose Mayan chocolate with roasted almonds! Even after 3 ice creams i felt really good. They are using only organic and local produce. They sweeten the ice cream with either organic raw cane sugar, organic coconut sugar, organic maple syrup or organic dates. Finally an ice cream i feel really good about eating! The staff was very friendly. They are following a spiritual path and there were lots of pictures of spiritual masters around that really blended well in with the cool and fresh looking interior. They just opened in November on Friday the 13th at 13:13 they told me with a smile:) They have about 40 recipes that they have made and introduce new menu every week with 10 options. They are closed on Wednesday but open other days. I hope they open downtown even though it´s close to downtown if you have a car. Maybe around 3-4 miles away in the next city called Kopavogur. They have also have in the same building a health food shop called Mamma veit best(Mother knows best)where i saw some of the top quality brands from the states like Garden of life, Vibrant health, Pure synergy, Navitas naturals and Dr.Bronners soaps. Really peaceful and serene atmosphere in the those two stores! I´ll be back soon very soon! This is my first and longest review on Happy cow and they deserve it.
