  • Awesome Place, Great Food!

I'm not a religious man but this was a godsend. It's difficult to find healthy food in Puerto Rico so stumbling across Roots and Fruits made my week. It's such a cool place, you walk in to a garden/mini jungle which provides food for the menu. The kitchen is outdoors and open to the garden so if Chef Skai needs more oregano she just needs to take a few steps to pick it. The food was tasty, healthy and reasonably priced. I loved the veggie wrap with the honey mustard dressing! My wife a Puerto Rican and not quite as gung ho healthy food had an empanada with soy protein inside and loved it. There is food for everyone, don't be afraid to bring your friends! We were also fortunate enough to spend time chatting with Skai about her future plans of a teaching garden and building sustainable housing. It was a such a nice evening and definitely will be one of the lasting experiences from our trip in Puerto Rico.
