  • GREAT LOCAL PLACE TO EAT THAI IN FLOWER MOUND, TX

We were on our way from Dallas to Denton, that's when we looked up Happycow to find a place to eat in Flower Mound, which was the city we were passing by at the time, and it brought up results for Z pizza (vegan friendly) and Noodle Swing, Since we had a vegan pizza the day before, we ended up eating at Noodle Swing Thai Restaurant. First off, we'd like to mention that Noodle Swing is quite a ways off of the freeway (I-35) and it's passed a LOT of other restaurants which will probably put most casual travelers off unless you are heading that way or already live there, but since we wanted something vegetarian and we love supporting independent businesses we had no problem taking a gamble and we have not been disappointed by Happycow yet. As we pulled up to the restaurant, which is tucked away at the very end of a Kroger's shopping strip, we found a perfect parking spot right in front of the restaurant. This place was beautiful; cheery decor and old time swing music which is being played very low overhead as to not be a distraction and the ambience is so nice you forget you're sitting in a strip mall right next to Kroger's. The menu is plentiful with choices and most entrees made with meat can be substituted with Tofu and vegetables. We ordered 3 entrées with an appetizer of unfried Spring Rolls and peanut sauce, all of which was delicious with huge portions. My favorite entrée was the Drunken Master flat rice noodles which is beyond description how good it was, besides that, we had vegen Pad-Thai and Red Curry with tofu and vegetables. I really wanted to try dumplings on their menu but those were pre-made with pork so we couldn't customize that order. Also, the owner is delightful and personable and helped us make a great food selection. If/when we are back in Dallas again, there is no doubt that we are going back to this place because its worth it. The internet address on Happycow must be old because it is incorrect, the correct address is http://www.noodleswing.com/
