  • Natural Beauty, gourmet vegetarian food in tranquil atmosphere

The Casa Botania location is spectacular, perched on a hillside near San Vito, with great views, bird and butterfly -friendly plantings; the B&B has its own greenhouse & gardens to supply fresh veggies and herbs for meals. meals are generous and the menu is inventive, and the wonderful host-chef Kathleen was able to accommodate our vegan requests. Breakfast includes a tropical fruit smoothie, tropical fruit platter, house-baked breads , jams and tomato-avocado -basil salad . For ovo-lacto diners, the standard guest breakfast included crêpes or eggs, and Kathleen offered us a delicate oat porridge one morning and the Costa Rican traditional black beans and rice the next . The three course dinner is by reservation and well worth it with a variety of international flavors like tomato-basil bruschetta, spicy lentil soup, stuffed portobello mushrooms , cous-cous. Desserts featured tropical fruits in unusual , tasteful presentations .
