  • Sums up Exeter in a cafe

As a local, I visit Boston Tea Party fairly regularly. I feel it's one of those places visitors to Exeter should definitely go to; make sure you sit inside and go upstairs (if possible) as that's where the Boston's atmosphere really is. In terms of food, it's nothing particularly special, but it's nice and it's good quality. My favourite vegan option is the vegan breakfast, and you can also ask for the tomato and mushroom bap to be made vegan which is really nice when you're after a warm snack. The cold sandwiches aren't as good as the hot food, but the avocado, sundried tomato and olive tapenade is OK if you need to grab a quick bite. They usually have a couple of vegan options in the cake display, the chocolate and coconut flapjack is particularly nice, and they have lots of suitable drinks options with organic soya milk. If you've been to Exeter but not visited Boston's you've been missing out.
