  • A veggie "butcher" in The Hague

I love to pass by at the "butcher's" for a delicious teriyaki sandwich, mushroom or "pepper steak" pie or any other of their wonderful vegan snacks. Eating those while sitting on one of the benches in the little park surrounding the nearby "Nieuwe Kerk" (= new church) is a nice thing to do - provided the weather permits. Apart from snacks, the "butcher" offers various sorts of faux meat to be prepared at home, convenience food and a small selection of other special food items, for example: lupine bread, a superdelicious oil made of rapeseed (I use it to get a butter-like taste in vegan dishes), special (but unfortunately quite expensive) jams with a mix of domestic and exotic fruit, raw fruit bars and "Ocean Crunch" chips... The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just a pity that not all their food is vegan ;-) !
