  • Disappointing.

The menu at this place looked promising. However things did not start out so well. The waiter took our order without writing anything down. Then he brought two orders of a watermelon salad dish. Strangely, this dish had been listed as an entrée even though it was basically a salad. It was not very good. It Was completely drenched in sesame oil which should be used with a very light hand, and there was entirely too much vinegar in it as well. In any event, we had only ordered one of these not two. There was almost no protein on the menu whatsoever. It was as if someone who was not a vegan decided they should start a vegan restaurant, but had no idea what vegans actually ate. I didn't notice any tofu, beans, or even nuts. There was some almond milk and almond cheese available. The almond cheese was pretty good. We also ordered the beet dip. It was as if they had just puréed the beats and called it a day. There were no discernible spices in this dip. A very blah dish. I could not finish it. The chiquito dish was the best thing we had. Oddly, they served the gazpacho last even though it would have been more appropriate to serve it first. All in all, it was a disappointing muddle, inconsistent and not truly suitable for a balanced vegan diet.
