- a veggie stall in marsiling industrial estate
despite being longtime denizens of marsiling, we ironically learnt about this stall through hungryangmo (www.hungryangmo.com). my mum chose mixed veggies with rice while i tried the "wet" hor fun. though there wasn't much choice left when we arrived around 1+ pm, the veggies my mum had were fresh, al dente and not too oily. it's been years since i've had hor fun, and this version was different from what i remember: much lighter gravy and not too salty. while ordering, i was asked if i wanted egg with the hor fun (which i declined), so i guess staff are vegan-friendly. although there's a menu of made-to-order dishes, not all might not be available on weekdays. saturdays, with less time-conscious crowds, are when special dishes such as laksa and "chicken" rice are prepared. the boss was very friendly and sat down and started chatting with us in mandarin, showing us photos of other dishes that she made for buffets and other events. she said that the stall would be moving in future, probably somewhere nearby. call before heading there to be on the safe side.
