  • Such a gem

This place is a total gem. I stopped by when I was visiting Gangnam and it totally blew my mind. The restaurant is run by a korean vegan lady who serves really delicious, hearty, and inexpensive food. It looks just like any other restaurant you pass by on the street but it is 100% vegan, even the groceries. I've ordered the rabboki (ramen + rice cake), soybean stew, budae jjigae, black bean noodles, and dumplings. All taste authentic and is indistinguishable from their meaty, animal-laden counterparts. Rice and side dishes are self serve and are located near the kitchen. There is a sign that says if you don't finish your food, you pay 2000won but I don't know how strict she is on that. So don't get more than you can finish. I've finished it every time though. ;) Oh, and don't forget to grab a twisty bread (korean churro) on the way out. It's at the front window. They're cheap and really tasty! To get there: Exit no. 5 of yangjae station. Walk a good 150m toward the right and you will see a bus stop. Take bus no. 18 and stop at guryongsagori stop (after 2 stops). I used the map above to find the rest of the way there. Hit up this place for a meal and walk to loving hut-gangnam and grab some icecream for dessert.
