- Hipster dining
Caveat: cool cats chow and caffeinate here. With that fair warning, dine and drink your heart and worries away at this chic eatery and coffee house in the northeasterly area of Columbia Heights. However, be ready to w-a-i-t. This place is so hopping busy, 45 - 60 min. can be the norm on the weekends for brunch. The wait is for good reason, as this place has an extensive drink and food menu that will flatter anyone's palate. As an herbivore, you will have many choices... but only half of those are vegan. Still, great choices like a Field Roast sausage sandwich that is practically gourmet, amazing tofu sautéed dishes with butternut squash or as a panzanella salad with heirloom tomatoes. Don't forget the amazing almond meal crust gluten-free tofu quiche for you wonderfully deserving vegan diners. Oh yum! The only bummer is that the portions are not large, so, you may be hungry still if you were starving upon arrival. Good coffee here can be ordered iced or hot, or even liquored up. They have almond milk and rice milk. The fresh fruit bowl is really that - very fresh, seasonal fruit. They have fries, and they're vegan and gluten-free. Vegan eggplant dip and quinoa cakes are just a couple more choices. You'll be happy to go here with your veg*n friends and family, or even with omnivores.
