- A Wonderful Vegan Oasis in Mazatlan
I am so happy Happy Cow exists and helps us find places like La Ruta Vegana. This is a great find in the meat and fish-strewn restaurants of Mazatlan. There is a good choice of Portobello and soy burgers, hot dogs, pizza (with potato starch-based cheese), tacos, and some fake meat entries. On our visits, we tried just about everything. The vegan brownie and vegan ice cream (I had a half-scoop of vanilla and a half-scoop of nut) was a great finish. Of course, I saved room. The staff are lovely, and they are super animal lovers. Even their sign inside says "We don't eat meat be we can't. We don't eat meat because we don't want to do so." Wonderful vegans. We chatted with them a lot during and after our meal.
