- Veg-Haven
Nice vegetarian restaurant close to Cathedral Square (Dom tér). The restaurant's main part is subterraneous, but there's also a comfortable and quiet outside area away from the street. The food is mainly Indian cuisine and lacto-vegetarian (no eggs). Milk products are used mainly for cheese and Yogonaise-Sauce, but also for lassis (yogurt drink) and shakes. The latter can also be ordered with rice or soy milk instead. Indian cuisine often uses ghee (clarified butter), but this restaurant uses oil for cooking and thus is very vegan-friendly. The food is rather salty but tastes quite good and the service is nice and friendly. Some servants even speak English and an English version of the menu is available upon request. The prices are appropriate and actually quiet cheap by Western standards. A satisfying meal costs only about 10 Euros or $14 per person. All in all it's a nice place with good food and probably the city's only veg-haven.
