  • Down to Earth, Unique, Good Food, Very Vegan

Very unusual place. The animal liberation mural struck me as I walked in the door. The atmosphere is very informal and friendly, not everyone's cup of tea but I like that. Servers are friendly. There are political posters/banners around the place and punk & anarchist magazines left on the tables to read. Firstly, the food is all vegan, which is a big relief (no worrying over ingredients). I ate a burrito and had chocolate cake with cream for dessert, which I really enjoyed. Secondly, you pay by donation. This was a bit of a culture shock, but was interesting. It means the food can be very cheap if you want, but also I wanted to support the place. Thirdly, the place is a bit shabby because the social centre is a squat, but it makes up for this with character and uniqueness. I would recommend it.
