  • Beautiful Mountain Cafe, Aberdeen

Fair enough there's quite a lot of cheese and egg dishes listed on the menu and if you are vegan you will be able to get a choice of a couple of sandwiches. Also I had a beautiful vegan soup here but whether or not the soup is always vegan, I am unable to comment on whether or not the soup is always vegan. There is though great sections of the menu dedicated to the eating of slaughtered animal produce, with the menu trying to titilate the customers with the comments such as this quoted straight from the menu:- * Prime back bacon from Robertson's Ardrossan * Pork & beef sausages hand-made by our local butcher to our own recipe * award winning black pudding from ramsey's of carluke Yummy stuff if that's your thing but for me, no thanks. £6.10 for a toasted sandwich of humous and a few slices of roasted pepper. That didn't seem good value to me even though it was served with a salad. Staff were very nice. This place is somewhere to go if you are desparate and there is nowhere else open at that moment in time. Should happycow be diverting business to this place when Tropical Gateway Cafe is a few mins walk away with an all vego & 99% vegan menu? I don't think so.
