  • A most wonderful restaurant for vegans and vegetarians

I don't think I can add anything to what's already been said, but this is a restaurant of the highest quality, with an entire menu page devoted to vegan dishes. I was in Taormina for 3 weeks, and went there almost every night for dinner. The servers were warm and welcoming, and treated me as a regular, bringing me a bottle of sparkling water without even asking. The dishes are beautifully presented, garnished with flowers, herbs or tiny branches of little fruits. As I'm a lacto-vegetarian I was thrilled to be able to enjoy - for the first time ever - eggless Italian desserts. The cannolo, mousse and panna cotta were simply divine, although very rich, so I didn't have them very often. Tuesday, their closing day, was always a sad day for me, and the other restaurants I tried didn't begin to compare. Although Taormina is an expensive town, the prices at La Zagara were - if anything - lower than those of much lesser quality. Updated from previous review on 2016-10-20
