  • Great local and organic option!

There are slim pickings on Isle of Skye for Vegetarians and especially vegans. This cute little pie cafe not only has both options clearly marked, but my vegan savory tart was fantastic. It tasted fresh, natural, wholesome and well balanced without fake meat or fake cheese. I have paid $20+ for similar dishes in New York, Portland and LA. This was hands down the best vegan meal I've had in Scotland. The cafe is run by a family, the husband is the chef and wife runs the front. The atmosphere is charming and cozy. The menu is very, very small and ever changing but I believe the vegan and veg option is constantly available, if ingredients change. Other options are very local meat centric, so if it bothers you to frequent a place that serves unusual local meat, this may not be for you. They also serve teas and coffee and beer and wine. To find to place, head north past Potree and Old Man Storr. Just before you reach Staffin and the turn for the Quiraing you'll see a small sign on the left with plenty of parking and a white two story building down a slope. If you want a healthy local experience (not chips and iceberg in a pub) go here!
