- Great late-night vegan-friendly option
It was 9pm and I was starving, finding everything else closed on Labor Day. Blaze Pizza was outside of the French Quarter area in a downtown type district, but worth the drive. I've never been to a place like it, it's sort of an assembly line like a Subway where you go through and pick your ingredients and they add them right there. There's only one size crust but it's perfect for a single person. I ended up with red sauce and vegan Daiya cheese only, because their toppings area was messy and there was gator sausage (yup) in the fresh basil container which turned me off. But they had a ton of great toppings options and there's no extra charge so you can get as many as you like. The pizzas are thin crust and oven fired, so they come out in only a few minutes and are super crispy. I gobbled mine up, it was so delicious I contemplated having a second one! I was so thankful to find delicious food in NOLA late at night, I'd highly recommend giving Blaze a try.
