  • Veg-Friendly Indian restaurant in central Poitiers

This established Indian restaurant (open since 1996) offers a tranquil décor with an intimate ambiance (the dining area is only about twenty tables, plus a similar size upstairs room that I have not seen. Staff are welcoming, though speak limited English, but service is fairly quick and the food speaks for itself. Vegetarian options limited to a quite generous Thali, or else classic starters (samosa, pakora, dhal) and vegetable curry dishes. We had wonderful mango Lassi to start. We had a Thali each, and were portions so large that we could not finish (no complaint!) as there was home-made Naan bread included. We had Indian wine with the meal and had khulfi to finish. Excellent meal: we'll go back! Restaurant offers take-away option which was obviously popular with local clients.
