  • Vegans well looked after

Eight members of Clare and Galway vegan Meet-Up groups met on 18/4/2015. We were provided with a totally vegan menu - three starters, three mains and a dessert. Everyone seemed happy with their choices and plates were cleaned. Potatoes and veg. were provided along with the mains and we got warm bread, pesto and oil before the starters. At €25 per head, it's very good value in an extremely busy - and upmarket - restaurant. Booking is essential (especially so for vegans) and the place was full. The staff were helpful, friendly and patient. I struggled to find a negative and the only thing I came up with is something common to many restaurants - it's noisy. We contributed to the noise of course but, being a large, open high-ceilinged room, they could do with some screens around the place. Places vegans can trust in Ennis are thin on the ground - there's only two other places I know of and one only sells soup! So The Town Hall Bistro is a welcome addition. If you're vegan, please support them - just remember to book in advance.
