- a surprisingly popular joint
my friend, knowing i'm vegetarian, suggested this place for dinner, as she enjoys the laksa here. i was surprised to find this branch so popular. at around 7 pm on a wednesday night, both the inner and outer dining areas were nearly packed - and it wasn't the 1st or 15th of the lunar month, when many omnivores turn herbivores for the day. having previously tried the laksa and rendang at the westmall branch, but still wanting something local, i opted for the mushroom pot with laksa base. at sgd8.90, it costs more than standalone laksa (sgd5.90), but packs much more into a bowl, with a variety of mushrooms, tau kee, vegetables, etc. together with brown rice, it made for a very satisfying meal.
