This place has been here for decades, I used to go quite a lot in the early 2000s for vegetarian pasta and pizza which was always good prior to a few drinks in Newcastle. Now it has its own separate vegan menu which is quite a revelation. There are at least 4 or 5 vegan starters and main courses and 3 deserts. You cannot go wrong with traditional Italian potato skins, a beautiful risotto and a sticky toffee pudding to finish. Washed down with some sparkling water and a glass / bottle of Pinot, this is a treat to behold. You will find Mamma Mias just off the Bigg Market on the back lane that takes you down to the Central Station area.
