  • U.A.E.’s first Vegetarian Supermarket

Cluster D in Jumeirah, Dubai seems to become the veg-paradise, with vegan donuts, a vegetarian restaurant and a vegetarian supermarket. I was really excited to have a look at ‘Kailash Parbhat Supermarket’ and sadly I got very disappointed. Advertising a supermarket with being vegetarian I automatically assume that there will be special vegetarian prodcuts, a wide selection of milk alternatives and lots of different mock meats. Sadly this supermarket has less choice of nut milks than most baqalas in Abu Dhabi, I was expecting some meat alternatives, but they do not even sell tofu! Even if you are looking for exciting Indian spices you will be disappointed. Kalash Parbhat is nothing more than a normal supermarket with a small selection minus the meat products. Supermarkets like Carrefour and Lulu have way more ‘vegetarian’ food to offer. I don’t think this supermarket is worth going to, as Dubai has many supermarkets with exciting vegan products. But Il Donaccino, offering vegan donuts is definitely worth the visit: https://apartment2504.wordpress.com/2014/12/03/il-donaccinovegandonutsindubai/
