- Brilliant addition to Liverpool vegan scene!
Tucked behind a non-descript storefront in leafy Woolton Village hides The Old Hardware Shop - a new, beautifully decorated and homely vegan/ vegetarian restaurant and cafe. If you are after very reasonably priced food and generous portions of creative ideas, The Old Hardware Shop will be sure to delight. Open for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee and cake, the main menu is limited to toast, sandwhiches, toasties, hot dogs and the superb Mediterranean platter, but do not be fooled by the simplistic appearance, the food is flavoursome, fresh and substantial. There is also a wide selection of drinks on offer including teas, coffees, iced coffee, and the highly recommended milkshakes. While the menu isn't explicitly vegan, you only need to say the word when ordering and all is taken care of, making this a perfect place to come with those who are perhaps a little reticent of typical vegan fare. I would love to see The Old Hardware Shop expand its menu and explore greater territory with what would surely be great additions, but for such a new addition to the vegan options in Liverpool, it is great to see them off to a strong start. Really looking forward to coming back soon!
