  • Diamond Lights - Darlo I love you

I'll be very impressed if anyone can work out my title. Progress is progress, whereby vegan labelling on menus is becoming more and more prevalent. Vegetarian labelling is nothing new, it's all about veganism now if you want to compete and attract a wider range of diners. We all love Italian food. I certainly do. Vegan items are labelled with a blue 'vn'. Foffano's offers good Italian food set in the pretty and spacious central market square of Darlington. On a Friday night you will find the restaurant packed, therefore booking ahead is advised. They have an online booking form which is easy to use. The only main course option for vegans is a pretty standard penne arrabbiata. This was preceeded by a more than acceptable tomato and basil bruschetta. They could also prepare a pizza without cheese if requested although this is not really much of a revelation. We didn't have desert but there was a vegan lemon and polenta cake available. It's always good to see an independent place doing well and trying to do its bit for veganism.
