- A strange place,
I was craving vegan sushi, and read about Sushi Ya. It's a bit out of the way in Mixco. The door was closed, but when we knocked they opened it for us. The small restaurant had a strange feel to it: not very inviting, but we were hungry so we went ahead and tried it. The menu said the sushi had to be ordered in advance, but when we asked, the woman told us she could make some for us. We tried two different varieties, which tasted almost identical. It wasn't bad, but it was expensive for what we got. It also took a long time to prepare, and we were the only people in the restaurant. If you want vegan sushi in Guatemala, you're better off going to Primavera instead.
