- Best vegan choice in the area
Unfortunately, the area around Mannheim is really lacking good vegan food. Heller's is most probably the best choice there (except for a home cooked meal) but I would not agree that this is great vegan food by German standards. Although the choice of salads (and the quality) is definitely fantastic, the cooked food is mediocre at best. I had a bean stew and veggie patty. The latter tasted like raw dough, only very superficially fried. The stew was OK but I would have preferred a bit more seasoning.
