- A Little Gem
I have eaten here a number of times. It is the best vegan restaurant in Sheffield, and one that can be relied on to provide good quality, and varied food that even meat eaters can enjoy. Of course, purists might object to the 'steak and potato pie' made with vegetable-meat substitute, but it is good that they provide something for those of us who are not that familiar with vegan food. Even so, if a broad minded meat eater wants to try anything on the varied menu I am confident it will be found to be full of taste. There is a vegan equivalent of that old English favourite, the full English breakfast. I tried it and the tofu 'egg substitutes' were delicious! There are other items made of tofu, including a cheese substitute. But there is also an amazing variety of dishes, including a Cashew Korma with rice and a poppadom. There is also vegan chili and rice, but there are other options beside rice such as chips or baked potatoes. There are also interesting sandwiches such as the avocado, tomato and pesto Panini. But don't take my words for it; go there and experiment. You won't be disappointed! All in all an inexpensive, varied and delicious dining experience. If only they opened later. But never mind. You can always take one of their pasties away with you for only £2.50. And they have an amazing range of Vegan and gluten free cakes. All in all, a little gem!
