- Disappointing Overall
I felt the menu at Herbivores was somewhat underwhelming for a vegan. I ordered the risotto and my partner the aubergine. Both dishes started off tasting good but after a few bites the greasiness of the risotto became apparent and it did not leave a very good feeling afterwards. The aubergine was nice for a few bites but became bland with no variation and very little couscous to go with. Presentation of dishes was good. The 'fresh' juice tasted like it was out of a box or bottle. The desert - a coconut milk panacotta - the only vegan option - was good and the highlight of the meal. Two drinks, two mains, a starter and a dessert cost over HK$600 and overall this represented poor value for money as I would expect true fine dining for this price and I do not feel this restaurant meets this category. I'd at least expect an upgrade from paper napkins at a fine dining restaurant :)
