- Large Asian Markt - Wedding
Large Asian supermarket. The prices are comparable to other Asian Supermarkets in Berlin. They have an all inclusive variety of foods from the major cuisines of the Far East. They organise their products by type and then by country; however, they do have a special section featuring Japanese and Korean products - although you'll find Japanese and Korean products throughout the store (find the KiMaRi in the frozen section, miso paste in the refrigerated section, Gochujang in the jarred paste/sauce section, etc.). They have the largest selection of Asian produce I've seen in Berlin (root vegetables, greens, sprouts, etc.) and the products are typically fresh due to frequent turnover. The noodle selection is endless (fresh noodles included!). They have a wide variety of typical Asian frozen products like dumplings, spring rolls, steamed buns, etc., and vegetables (bamboo shoots, yams, banana leaves, etc.) as wells as Asian fruits (Jack fruit, mango, etc). They sell dried Asian mushrooms, roots, berries, beans, Chinese soup combinations, etc. They even have a variety of packaged Asian pickled condiments. They also have an abundance of sauces and pastes - both cooking bases and condiments. They sell ready-made or instant recipe mixes for popular dishes such as Mapo Tofu, Tikka Masala, Massaman curry, etc. and Ramen in any flavour you can think of. They also carry non-Asian products that are popular in Asia (Maggy, ginger beer, etc.) and products that are sought out by non-Asian expats (HP Sauce, P.A.N., peanut butter, etc.) They offer a large selection of spices of quality brand name spices like TRS and NGR brands as well as bulk spices - their bulk Szechuan pepper corns are the best quality I've found. They have some frozen and dried Asian vegan/vegetarian meat products too. They have a large section of Asian snacks, Asian alcohol, and non-food products like Asian cookware, electric rice cookers and pretty porcelain dining and tea sets. The service has improved over the years. They accept cash and cards. Updated from previous review on 2016-11-02
