  • Breakfast and cake in a nice atmosphere

A very friendly waitress explained which breakfast could be prepared vegan (the "Rustikales Frühstück" with vegetable spread, two different types of vegan cold cuts, three slices of wholemeal bread and A LOT of fruit, vegetables and salad, olives and oil) - it was a big and filling plate for 6,9€. In general, the snacks are quite heavy on the ovo-lacto-vegetarian side but I hope that will change in the future. There were about six different types of cake out of which two were marked vegan - chocolate cake and Linzer cake. The chocolate cake was good but nothing out of this world. The Linzer cake tasted very sweet and of not much else than sugar, I have to say. Around 2€ for a pice of cake isn't such a bad price, though, and I think it's a good thing that take-out costs an extra 30 cents. What isn't very fair but something you come across a lot is that you're charged extra for soy milk. Even though the 20 cents they charge for this here is quite little (other places often charge about 50 cents more) I hope this discrimination will change in the future. The atmosphere and music at Kuchenmafia were very enjoyable and if maybe not for the cake I will probably go back for their breakfast and the friendly service.
