- Meat based restaurant with vegetarian options
As title states. This is not a vegetarian/vegan shop but has vegetarian options. The menu lists a lot of vegetarian options, but most of them are unavailable when I was there. Ended up with a classic hummus and falafels. Can't go wrong with that, right? Nope. It was bad. Hummus didn't taste right so I asked for more lemon and tahini. Waiter then told me they didn't have tahini. How do you make hummus without tahini? No wonder it didn't taste "right". He ended up giving me two thin lemon slices, the kind you put in your "detox" drink. And to top it off, the falafel was burnt to a crisp. It tasted like it was deep fried before then was frozen, and deep fried again until it was dark brown. Couldn't finish it even though I was starving. Was disappointed because I expected a Middle Eastern restaurant with Middle Eastern staff to serve good Middle Eastern food. Guess you can't judge a book by its cover.. Chilli Vanilla opposite Plaza Merdeka has better hummus if you're craving for some. Environment is okay, clean and quiet. I haven't seen a lot of people frequenting the place. There is indoor and outdoor seating and some shisha available. There are some restaurants and bars along the same block, no idea if it gets packed and noisy during drinking hours. I went there around 7:00pm. Inform beforehand if you're vegetarian/vegan, as is always the case for non-vegetarian shops. Just as precaution. Tons of choices for non-vegetarian friends. HOW TO GET THERE It is facing the main road so it is not hard to miss. At Wawasan Plaza, facing Api-Api, behind Centre Point. Not far from the Oceanus/BED club roundabout.
