- Traditional Buffet - only vegan!
As the title suggests, this is a very traditional Taiwanese buffet, with all the favourites served up in the thousands of simple buffets around Taiwan, only with a twist: they're all vegan. So you no longer need to worry about whether the dressing contains mayonnaise, and of course fake meat (usually made with egg/dairy/worse) is all safe! And the other great thing about here is that it's only 120NT for all you can eat - a bargain by any standards (even for simple buffets) and no need to worry about queueing up to pay again if you want to go back for seconds. It's a fair ride on the subway to get there from central Taipei, but worth it for visitors if you want to try a traditional buffet. It would combine well with a trip to @Peace Cafe (call first to check they're open) and a walk around Bitan lake - together they would make a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Taipei. If I lived in the area I would be there almost daily. It's no gourmet cuisine, but I'm giving it five stars for being the only vegan buffet restaurant (I know of) in Taipei, and so reasonably priced.
