- Fantastic new vegan restaurant (December 2014)
The night before my day trip to Nuremberg I decided to check out HAPPY COW one last time. I'm glad I did because there was a new vegan listing for TASTY LEAF. I went for lunch on a Tuesday just six days after they opened. It was a fantastic experience. We were served by the owner (Mike) who is super-friendly and a great enthusiastic supporter of veganism. We had a reasonably priced and very delicious three-course prix-fixe "business lunch" special with salad, spicy "cowboy" chill and bread with a chocolate mousse for dessert. Mike even joked that he would rename the spicy chili "Calgary Flame" chili after a Canadian hockey team (since we are from Canada . . .) The service was incredibly friendly, warm and engaging. The food was great and the atmosphere comfortable . . . it's amazing they were able to do all this in the first week of business. I can only imagine that things will just get better and better. I highly recommend it if you're looking for vegan food in Nuremberg (or even if you are a vegetarian or omnivore who is just open to good vegan food . . .). It's just a short walk from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof).
