  • Lovely Surprise!

We'd spent a few hours hungrily wandering around Calgary, looking for restaurants that had either closed down or looked a bit grim. The Coup was the last one on our list, and what a great surpise it was. Small & trendy, like a hip bar, it was jumpin' when we arrived, but we managed to get a nice booth. I had the dragon bowl - tofu, rice, veggies, miso gravy - and my partner had a veggie burger and sweet potato fries. The food was really delicious, just the right amount, and our server was nice & friendly, giving us tips on where to go in Calgary. Only con I can think of was the rubbish music playing, which seemed more suited to a cocktail bar. But hey, it sure didn't interfere with our enjoyment of the meal! After such a long, arduous trek to get there, The Coup was a lovely reward. We would definitely eat there again.
