• Excellent selection for Veg/ans.

This is by far my favorite health food store ever. Not only is the selection for vegans better than anywhere else I've been(based on ratio of product)the pricing is also very competetive. Let's start with the deli section. Because this deli really is a vegans dream. In the cold case you can get a dozen or more fresh baked vegan goodies like 4 different kinds of chocolate truffles, and a collossal vegan cupcake mousse dish. Then, the hot food deli has specials like brown rice and cashew gravy for $3 a serving. Or, try the hot food table($8.99 per lb.)with choices that range from vegan sweet and sour chicken, to vegan terryaki kabobs, to vegan barbecue ribs. And that's just a sampling. Near the deli you'll also find all the dairy, with a huge selection of cheeses, and the largest selection of mock meats I've ever seen. Probably 30 choices of tofus, tempehs, seitans, soysage,veggieburgers,bacons,cold cuts,ethnic flavors,hot dogs, you name it. Not to be outdone, a good selection of veg/an butters, cheeses and spreads, plus a dozen or so vegan milks. Produce section is nearly all organic, and well priced, with a nice selection of fruits, and usually a half dozen choices for edible mushrooms and sprouts, plus choices for raisins, figs, ginger, garlic, several potatos and more. Household items runs the gamut of veg/an choices from laundry soap to toothpaste to cleaning supplies(all found in the second building across the parking lot). Also nice beer and wine selection including many organic and vegan labeled. - And finally, the most amazing bulk section you may ever find. Beyond all the normal beans, grains, cereals, spices, and treats, Staff of Life also carries about a half dozen vegan bulk dehydrated meat alternatives like TVP(textured vegetable protein)in strips and nuggets, soy nuggets, and soy powder(for farmers tofu). There is also a great selection of dried bulk bean mixes(just add H2O)like a hummus mix,black bean chilli mix,split pea soup mix, and a couple of nutritional yeasts. On top of all taht, you can get your Braggs,Soy Sauce, Honey,Agave and Rice syrups,coffee and many other items bulk. Also, press your own organic and fresh nutbutters(almond or peanut). Friendly staff and clean bathroom, entire store very wheelchair accessible. This store does have a meat section, and in one corner of the store it is hard to miss the smell and sight. Also, this store is currently expanding and will be moving across the street in the first 6 months of 2011.
