  • OKAY if you're a vegetarian, WORTHLESS if vegan

Drexel student (graduating this year) who has been a vegan since I got to this school and given that Drexel is not a particularly vegan friendly school at all I was very excited when I heard this place was opening up. As it turned out, like basically all dining options at Drexel it was a swing and a huge miss. All food is pre-made and basically just reheated and not of very good quality at all which to be fair is like all Drexel owned food places including Seasons across the street, etc. but still. And even if we ignore that my bigger issue is that it claims to be both vegetarian AND vegan friendly (their door has a Happy Cow sticker with a sign literally saying "Vegan options available" but if you go in you'll find that there are two vegan items on the menu: a smoothie (not food) and a salad (literally every restaurant in the world is vegan friendly if you're counting a single salad as being vegan friendly). As various other users have pointed out, almost every item that is vegetarian could EASILY have been made vegan but since everything is pre-made it's too late to ask for an omission now to make it vegan. Bottom line is don't believe for a second that they have vegan options if you're a vegan (instead walk the few extra blocks and GO TO HIP CITY VEG INSTEAD). And if you're a vegetarian, then okay, MAYBE give it a try if you want but I would probably STILL recommend going to Hip City Veg since it's 1000x better even given that we're comparing vegetarian food to vegan food.
