- Sublime food!
We visited Rayen Vegano twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times we made reservations, which I'd definitely recommend as people were getting turned away. It's deservedly popular: the food is really delicious! For breakfast, my partner had the Sunday special pancakes, which were a real treat. I had the tempeh sandwich, which was really spectacular. The homemade bread was unbelievably good! We also shared a piece of raw peanut butter cake, which was absolutely amazing, but cost €6.50, which is far too much for a dessert. On a different day, we had the lunch set menu. There are two choices for each course, for €11.50 a person. We had a salad starter, which had an amazing mushroom dressing. We ordered one each of the mains and shared them. The quinoa timbale was really light and refreshing, but a little small. The seitan pastry with mashed potato and tomato sauce was very flavoursome. The dessert options were both muffins, which was a little unexciting, but they were still good. This was one of the best places we visited in Madrid, both in terms of food and service. Really lovely!
