This place is fabulous if you are stuck in downtown Portland craving raw juices, smoothies and foods. Most of the veg outlets of popular veg lore are in SE and other more hip places in Portland, so, although it is delicious and lovely, it's not a "go-to" place for veg*ns. If interested in Kure, it's likely you'll likely be in the Hawthorne area. As far as the food offerings go, yes, it's not a cornucopia… except if you are eating raw and vegan and gluten free, then you may greatly appreciate what they have here. They have acai bowls and oatmeal bowls, which seemed very popular. The few (2) benches for eating were filled with people devouring these bowls. There are also a very respectable selection of raw vegan gluten free foods like collard wraps, crackers, and bar foods based on pureed dried fruits with nuts/ coconut/ dates and the like. At the register, there are gluten free baked vegan items like a tasty pumpkin bar or banana coconut bar for a few bucks. The juices are freshly made and also pre-made. The smoothies can be veganized, easily. I like the add-ons here like almond butter, agave, greens, coconut yogurt, ginger and fruit. The smoothies are not all vegan and not all raw, but the juices are, so be happy with that. It's all gluten free, though. Great ingredients for those interested in maca root, ginseng, acai, cacao nibs, chia and goji berry- many of the most popular healthful additions to our diets. Some more processed add-ins like protein powder, algae, amino acid and superfood blend. For Portland, it's pricy, yes. For others not from Portland, this place is very affordable considering the high quality. This place is tasty and makes me happy in a downtown that can be less veg friendly than the rest of Portland. Thanks, Kure!
