- Holland and Barrett, Warrington
Going to Holland and Barrett is hardly an inspired choice. As far as I can find out though, in Warrington the alternatives are abysmal. Holland & Barrett is a nationwide chain of over 500 branch in the UK and over 700 branches worldwide. It is owned by US private equity firm, the Carlyle group and worth around $3.5 bn. Hardly the spirit of the independent trader. None of the branches are all vego as they all sell fish oil. The location of this branch in Golden Square shopping mall is pretty handy depending on your needs. Its in the town centre and if you are walking between Central and Bank Quay train stations, you go right past in the pedestrian area. They don't sell any hot food. They sell plenty things to take away and cook. If you need something to eat immediately they sell a choice of savoury pastry dishes and the like from the fridge. They also sell things like nuts & dried fruit.
