  • outstanding!

After many years of trying to get to this place I finally made it two weeks ago. I phoned ahead to book and what a good job I did. Saturday even and within 20 mins of arriving it was heaving. And what a welcome. The co-owner showed us to our table with a smile. We ordered our respective meals, my partner having the onion soup, I chose the potato starter and we both had the seitan bourgignon. Both were well prepared, very tasty and very filling. We are both from Burgundy and my partner said it was a very good replica of a real boeuf bourgignon with authentic spices (if not a little too much clove for me...) The atmosphere was warm and inviting and it was a pleasure to be there quite frankly. the co-owner had the time, in spite of the pressure of a full restaurant, to chat about seitan production, attempts at making mock cheeses etc. Brilliant, an excellent advert for vegetarianism.
