  • 500 dram Syrian falafel and a variety of ME treats

Vegan options in Yerevan are so limited, so I was ecstatic to find this middle eastern restaurant run by Syrian Armenians (our waiter was a refugee with an interesting story but that's another subject). For a cheap, quick bite, order the falafel to go - unlike Israeli/Palestinian/Lebanese style falafel, this Aleppo style falafel is donut shaped and is accompanied by red radish, lettuce, tomato, and mint leaves, and it is wrapped in flatbread instead of pita. Ask for the raw tahini in it if you're vegan as the tahini sauce has yogurt. The wrap is only 500 dram to sit or to go (about 1.25 usd) and is not on the menu. For a serious meal, there are a variety of middle eastern dishes, dips, and salads that a table can share together with a side of syrian bread. I recommend the imam bayundi, a savory eggplant, tomato, and onion dish. I posted the vegetarian menu as an image so check it out :)
