  • (South) Indian food heaven for vegans!

Situated near the Isartor S-Bahn station and the Isar river, this little pearl of Indian food caught my attention by its very orange, red and yellow front of the store. Inside it continues to be very colorful but never slips into an Indian cliche like most other Indian restaurants do. This here doesn't feel like a candle dinner place, but it's very comfy inside and has outdoor seating. We were there at the evening but it offers a lunch card as well. Indian Mango serves Indian food with a selection of 11 vegan "normal" main courses, and about 15 vegan side dishes and soups. They also cover a lot of classic South Indian vegetarian specialities like Masala Dosa, Uttapam and Vaidi - that are all vegan as well! We were surpriced by that fact, since most Indian restaurants are using Ghee in almost -every- Indian dish. Waitress was very friendly and obliging. We had a nice chat with here about their place. They have local and tourists here, so menu is also translated in English. Portions are fair, they are using fresh ingredients. Mid-spicey and very colorful in taste... just like the Interior. Try the Okra Masala dish, it's really tasteful! I've tried a lot Indians in Munich and it's easy to say that Indian Mango is the most vegan friendly of them in town. And a very good one in general terms too!
