• Search for great vegan food pays off

La Mano Verde was on the list of vegan places to eat in Berlin so we had to try it. Fortunate for us that we did, as other than a very nice place in Amersfoort in NL that we found last year, this was the best proper 100% vegan restaurant I've tried. 10 out of 10 for decor (peaceful, modern, classy), staff (attentive, humourous) and food .... we had the tempeh and schnitzel dishes followed by the chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and the portion sizes were appropriate for those of us who'd eaten little all day but built up a big appetite by walking miles around the sites of Berlin. Like a previous reviewer, I felt a little under-dressed in the lovely surroundings, and would definitely put in a bit more effort if I'm lucky enough to visit again. However, our fellow diners were also dressed casually. I noticed that children, including small children, were welcomed. There was a great atmostphere on the night we were there - lots of people having a good time with great food. This is the perfect place for a special night out.
