I was in Sunderland to visit the National Glass Centre (which is definitely worth a trip). Afterwards we wandered into town to check this place out because of the HappyCow reviews. It didn't disappoint. It's quite small with around ten tables, but didn't feel cramped even though it was still busy at 3 o'clock on a Friday. The menu was very good for vegans, with plenty of brunch and lunch options such as bagels with avocado and scrambled tofu. Specials included a Japanese curry and spring rolls. We only had tea and cakes - a carrot cupcake and sicilian lemon cake - both of which were light and tasty. All their cakes are vegan and we took out a peanut butter blondie and a courgette and lime cupcake, which were still lovely and fresh the day after. This place is special. Sunderland is lucky to have it and one I'll make a detour for next time I'm in the north east. Updated from previous review on 2016-05-07
