• Vegan Sandwiches using Beyond Meat Chicken

Beyond Meat has been in the vegan buzz lately. Their chicken made with vegetable protein has rave reviews. I checked their web site for a nearby store and up popped, in my own town, Tropical Smoothie Cafe. At this franchise fast food shop, you can substitute Beyond Meat's chicken for any of the offerings featuring chicken. Of Tropical Smoothie's sandwiches, many feature chicken and one is based on hummus. The sandwiches come as wraps, flatbread, sandwiches or salads. See the Tropical Cafe web site for details. http://www.tropicalsmoothiecafe.com/ Update: Many of the sandwiches contain cheese and I haven't asked if the cheese can be omitted, but I suspect it can. The restaurant has a drive-up window, inside and outside seating and take-out. The outside seating abuts the mall parking lot, so not much ambience there. I had the Thai sandwich that contained the Beyond Meat chicken, slivered carrots and romaine lettuce with a Thai peanut sauce. Quite tasty, if a little on the sweet side in the sauce department. Nice to have a local, in effect vegan, sandwich shop. And I almost forgot the large variety of fruit smoothies.
