• don't make a special trip

When travelling somewhere new, I usually look at Happy Cow to find places to eat before I go. If there is not much choice in a particular area and a place sounds good I'm likely to make a special trip there. My review is really just to say - don't do that! If you find yourself in El Cotillo and you fancy a drink, this seems like a nice, relaxed place which has good opening hours. If you find yourself in El Cotillo and are hungry, try and find even a small supermarket instead, then come here for a drink. Just to give you an idea of what the food is like, the recipe would go like this: cook some pasta shells the night before. Before serving, open a tin of finely chopped carrots and a tin of peas. Take a dessertspoon full of the carrots and the peas and fry in some sunflower oil along with the pasta shells. Serve. The mysterious thing is the extreme care they took to label the menus with different colours according to whether it's vegan, vegetarian or has meat. Very strange.
